I started the day in Rocky Mountain National Park and wanted to follow the Colorado River westward from its source. This was the first time I had been at the upper reaches of the river. I had been used to the massive river in the Grand Canyon and at Hoover Dam.

It was my first time driving the beautiful Route 1 on California's central coast. The fog was in intense in the morning and slowly lifted.

My children and I drive the Las Vegas strip for the first time. There responses to what they see is quite funny.

Upon leaving the Artist's Palette loop, we head north towards Furnace Creek. It was late November, so the day was short, but with pleasant temperatures.

We witnessed a beautiful sunset over the bay when leaving St. George Island and heading westward toward the town of Apalachicola. The Apalachicola River is essentially the continuation of the Chattahoochee River, which rises in the mountains of northern Georgia alongside (literally) the famous Appalachian Trail. Kansas is not completely flat! The state has various hilly regions, but the Gypsum Hills reminds me of southwestern tablelands, such as areas of eastern New Mexico or northwestern Texas. Immediately southwest of Medicine Lodge, KS is the Gypsum Hills scenic parkway.

Near 12,000 ft in Rocky Mountain National Park are some interesting alpine flowers.

In Brunswick, Georgia, there is a huge bridge from which you get a amazing view of the two barrier islands, Jekyll and St. Simons. The Atlantic Ocean is visible between the two islands.

These beautiful and unique flowers were growing wild near the sea cliffs at Point Lobos.

Crossing the state line from South Lake Tahoe, California into Stateline, NV. We were hoping for lower gas prices once we left California, but we were wrong! The prices were higher than any of the gas stations were saw all over CA in 2021! Once we got to Carson City, it dropped about $1.50-$1.75 per gallon.

While camping in Rocky Mountain National Park I wanted to be sure to hike part of the Colorado River Trail to see the beginning of this magnificent river.

When traveling up to the Dakotas during the summer of 2022, I wanted to be sure to see the famous Nebraska Sand Hills, a unique landscape of grass-covered sand dunes that covers a large area of that state. It is very good land for ranching because of the abundant grass and water from the Ogallala Aquifer.

Exiting the Big Horn Mountains westward on US 14, we pass through spectacular Shell Canyon. The video starts at 7200 ft, following Shell Creek, and descends to near 4000 ft as we approach the Big Horn River valley. in the Wyoming Basin. The Wyoming Basin in the northern part of the state lies between the Big Horn Mts to the east, and the Absaroka Range to the west. It is a drier region that does not receive moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and receives a limited amount of moisture from the Pacific due to the rain shadow effect. During our 2023 summer vacation we visited five different beaches in Florida and Georgia. As a family, we took a vote and rated each beach according to its beauty. Sand quality and water clarity were our determining factors. Here they are in order of ugliest to prettiest.
