We step back in history to a Civil War Confederate Camp with reenactors. We take a closer look at their equipment and show you how to ID metal detecting relics found from this period of time. We have found several items while metal detecting civil war sites that are more easily identified when you see this rare up-close look at their hyper-accurate reenacting gear. The reenactors also talk about the detail that goes into their hobby and their love for history is apparent. These reenactors were with the 48th Alabama Infantry and were there to take part in the burial of Lt. Andrew Jackson Buttram who was the last Confederate soldier killed east of the Mississippi River at the end of the American Civil War. This is also believed to be the last battle east of the MS River. The video of his service will be released in the upcoming week. Be sure to subscribe and hit the bell icon to be notified of that release.

We will not be metal detecting in this video, but most of our content involves history and this can directly relate to using a metal detector and teaching you how to identify the relics that are found buried in the ground.
