- The house is 300 square feet in size and was built by Vernon Presley, with the help of his brother and father, in 1934.
- Vernon borrowed $180 from his employer, Mr. Orville Bean, to build the house.
- The furnishings in the house are what they would have looked like when the Presleys lived there, but people have donated items to help recreate the look.
- The only item that the Presleys took with them when they moved to Memphis was an ice box.
- Elvis Presley was born in the front room of the house, and his stillborn twin brother, Jesse, was also born there.
- Vernon Presley was convicted of check forgery and sentenced to three years in prison, during which time Gladys and Elvis lived with relatives.
- Gladys Presley went around getting petitions signed to help get Vernon out of prison early.

Hidden Family Treasure Uncovered Behind Picture at Thrift Store!
We purchased an old picture from a thrift store in Carrollton, GA with the intention of finding the family it belonged to with Genealogy. We were surprised to find this hidden family treasure behind the picture after part of it fell out. We always read about hidden treasures found behind pictures, but this is the first time we found anything in a picture we purchased. While it may not be extremely valuable it was priceless to someone.
Only our channel, we focus on finding history no matter where it hides. We use metal detectors, research, and genealogy to put all of these clues together to tell the story of forgotten people.

We destroyed history while metal detecting! (for soldiers)
We took American Civil War relics found metal detecting and had them forged in fire into a knife to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. After seeing recent events as our soldiers left Afghanistan we felt that something must be done to help. We teamed up with Randy Caston, a champion, from the TV show Forged in Fire on the History Channel to make this possible. Our idea was to take a part of Civil War Cannonball from the Confederate Army and a projectile from the Union Army to upcycle these relics into a knife. The knife is being given away via a drawing for those who donate directly to wounded warrior project via the link listed below. Donations are tax deductible and go to help soldiers that protected our freedom. If you would like to help even if you can not donate you can do so by sharing this video, leaving a comment, and hitting the like button so that more people see the video. If you would like us to do more project like this comment your favorite charity below.
To donate and find out more about the drawing for this one of a kind knife made by Bladesmith Randy Caston with relics found by the History Seekers team:
