This is the return to the Lynyrd Skynyrd crash site metal detecting in March 2020 using the new Minelab Vanquish metal detectors. During this second trip, we have an incredible and unbelievable find from the crash location of the Convair CV-240 which was the last flight of the southern rock and roll band Lynyrd Skynyrd. The flight went down on October 20, 1977, and took with it band members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick as well as Pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. It would be remiss to not remember the pilot and co-pilot who lost their lives in this tragedy, as well. Lynyrd Skynyrd had multiple-hit southern rock classics such as Free Bird, Sweet Home Alabama, and Tuesday's Gone. The History Seekers have never sold any of their relics and that remains true in the case of this dig.

⚠️ At the request of the landowner, we are to advise anyone attempting to trespass on this site WILL be arrested. It is posted property and it is monitored by cameras at all times. ⚠️
