Catalinbread took the FX40 "Soft Focus" patch from the Yamaha FX500 multi-effect processor unit (originally released in 1989) and put it into a stomp box. A widely used FX in the 1990s for shoegaze bands, the sound is now readily accessible for countless mediocre indie groups on Bandcamp to flood the market with more shoegaze. Other than that, this pedal does make some cool sounds.
