Half of Japan still using Internet Explorer
Video transcript:
So a few days ago we said our farewells to Internet Explorer as Microsoft finally ended support for the 27-year-old browser.
And now a recent report reveals about half of Japan’s businesses are still using the browser.
Now ofc internet explorer didn’t disappear off the face of the Earth.
Microsoft just ended their support for it so no updates, no security patches, no new features, but hey you know it’s still there.
Now this isn’t too surprising as a lot of businesses are still using old software for managing finances & so on.
And these apps have probably been written like 2 decades ago & made to work with internet explorer.
So obviously it’s not so simple & cheap to convert or rewrite these apps to work with newer software.
