Micron has officially created the first-ever 1 & a half TeraByte MicroSD card.
It will be manufactured using Micron’s 176-layer 3D NAND process with a focus on performance & endurance.
The card will be more than fast enough to handle pretty high bitrate 4k video & will allow up to 8 AI events per second, such as object detection & face recognition.
It will be positioned primarily as a storage device for dash cams in large vehicle fleets, police body cameras & so on.
But I think mobile gamers that play on the Nintendo switch or maybe the Steam deck will also be very interested.
The card will also have a mean time to failure of about 228 years, so you better eat your veggies so you can make sure you get the most out of your microSD card.
