Are Christians Allowed to Stone People in 2022?

Scott Esk, a GOP Candidate for the State House of Representatives in Oklahoma said that gay people were "worthy of death" and that for Christians, "we'd be totally in the right to do that" meaning STONE them to death.

Folks, this is an example of a Christian who misunderstands an important section of his Bible. Christ came to Earth for a reason. Through His sacrifice, the old laws were abolished and a New Covenant was created. This means that the laws we see throughout the Old Testament don't apply to Christians.

That means the civil laws about eating foods and wearing clothes, as well as the ceremonial laws regarding worship and animal sacrifice, and even the moral laws including the Ten Commandments.

Now, 9 of the 10 Commandments were carried over to the New Testament through Jesus' teachings, but there is much that we don't have to abide by. This is important for atheists to know as well, since that means that they can't tell Christians we cherry-pick the Bible, since we don't have to follow the Old Testament anyway.
