Nothing but LOVE for Manila Bay, the Baywalk and the Dolomite Beach

🎵🤩 Man in the Mirror 🤩🎵 is easily one of my all-time favorite songs ❤️ — so it certainly gets its fair share of airplay on Manila Bay Beach Radio 🎧🎤 — but recently the song has been at the forefront of my mind for reasons beyong simple enjoyment.

As a result of Habagat season ⛈💨🌧, a heartbreaking 💔❤️‍🩹 amount of trash has piled up on Metro Manila's coastal areas. The southwest monsoon waves 🌊 and winds 💨 have brought water hyacinths and improperly disposed solid wastes onto our shores ... and it truly breaks my heart. This isn't ❌ okay. Even if it's "normal" by recent historical standards ... it isn't ❌ okay.

That's how/when 🎵🤩 Man in the Mirror 🤩🎵 came to mind: because it's time to make a change, Manila. Roxas Boulevard and the Manila Baywalk have been my home 🏢❤️🧡🤎 for the past seven years — and they will remain my home 🏢❤️🧡🤎 until the day I die: I'm not ❌ going anywhere.

I am a member of the ⭐️ Kingdom of God ⭐️ — the same as you — the same as every person across this Earth 🌏 — and this is my little corner of ⭐️ God's Kingdom ⭐️. I chose to look in the mirror, take personal responsibility and fight for it ... for nature, for Manila Bay, for the Baywalk, for the beach, for the community and for my neighbors. 👫🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️👭👫🧍🧍‍♀️👬🧍‍♂️👫👫🧍🧍‍♀️👬🧍‍♂️👫

Nothing I do is for profit. Nothing. 🚫 Wala. 🚫 facebook.com/manilabaybeach is a nonprofit organization — I haven't even bothered to completely monetize this FB account (beyond ⭐️s) ... because that is not the motivation. ALL of my time and effort goes toward simply trying to raise awareness. 😶

But first — before I can worry about anyone else, I need to worry about me. Because just like Michael wrote and sang, "it starts with" — ME — "the man in the mirror".🪞

I've looked in the mirror🪞, and the man I saw is a man who is here to fight. I identified my highest good, Manila ☀️ — fighting for clean water 🌊🌊🌊 in Manila Bay, especially along the Baywalk 🌴🌴🌴 — and that is what I will do — that will be my small contribution: to fight. I will fight until I simply can't do it anymore. ⚰️🪦
