A mum awakened to the calls of her child after he was hit by a van en route to a companion's home.

The previous night Rachel Wilson, 42, from Knowsley, was awakened by a call from her child Marc as he lay out and about miles from their home. Marc, 23, had been strolling to a companion's home at around 5pm when a white Portage Travel van hit him from behind, tossing him out of sight before he arrived on the van's windscreen.
