Why Europe is banning TVs

Europe is banning TVs.
Now this isn’t quite as absurd as it sounds, they’re only banning the best highest-end TVs.
So some of the biggest, highest resolution, bestest HDR TVs that are out there.
Now if you’re like me and your TV only cost you about $400 you probably don’t care about the high-end thousands of dollars TVs.
However remember it’s those premium TVs that introduce new features such as 4K & HDR, that then trickle down to the point where all the cheap TVs get them as well.
Speaking of cheap, you just won a free subscription to daily tech news, so you should definitely follow you know.
So manufacturers not being able to sell any in the entire European market, might just stifle innovation.
The ban is coming because Europe’s new TV power consumption act.
Which also doesn’t make sense because for instance they just copied the efficiency requirement of 4K TVs to 8K TVs.
Which is fundamentally wrong because the higher you go in resolution, the stronger backlight you need to have so you can push the light through all of those pixels.
