Shucking Oysters and "Day" Drinking on Moving Day in Kiln, Mississippi #fulltimerv #rvlife #travel

Filmed March 12th, 2022

After a long, stormy couple of weeks in New Orleans, Louisiana, we decided it was time to move. Of course it was the sunniest, most beautiful day we'd seen the whole time... it couldn't be helped though because Sparkles (our KLR) was out of commission until we could get the chain situation fixed. As an incentive to get out on the road sooner, we made a plan to have oyster shooters and bloody Marys when we got to our next spot. And grilled oysters with garlic butter and lemon (I realize I called it "barbecued" in the video which is incorrect and I apologize to all my Texan friends who are well aware I don't know anything about true barbecuing).

We saw an apartment building burning down on our way, and drove on a flat bridge basically at the level with the ocean (or some other very large body of water). We did make it to our next spot in the daylight after picking up our 40 lb bag of oysters, but Cody insisted on thoroughly cleaning the trailer before we ate (as usual, keeping a lady from her dinner), so we didn't end up with any daylilght to do the rest of our activities. Unperturbed, we went ahead anyway with headlamps to shuck oysters by. It's to be expected that we grill in the dark at this point.

Watch us struggle to get the oysters shucked, and get some tips for how to do a better job if you ever try it.

We didn't end up filming a ton after this because it was rainy and there were TONS of people everywhere, but I'll explain that in the next video.

We are Cody and Katrina, AKA Second Nature. We have been traveling the US in our 32’ 2018 Desert Fox 27fs toy hauler trailer since October 2021. A lot has happened since we left, and we hope you will come along for the ride!

When we first started on our trip a lot of chaos happened and we weren’t able to edit, so we’ve been working through our backlog of footage for a while. We plan to be caught up and current in the next few months. In the meantime, have fun watching our memories.
