Splatoon 3 - Anarchy Battles #1 (Splat Zones Series)

It's the last month of Drizzle Season 2022, and there is still one mode I haven't played yet, which is Anarchy Battles! Anarchy Battles are basically the same as Ranked Battles in Splatoon 1 and 2, except now they can be played two ways: Open and Series.

Open mode is a single match that you can play with friends if you choose, with a scoring system similar to Splatoon 1's Ranked mode where you gain a small amount of points toward the next rank on victory and lose a small amount of points if you lose.

Series mode is where you want to go if you want to rank up fast. You have to wager some of your ranking points to enter, and you can't invite your friends to join, though you can stay with your team between matches if you do well with them. The goal here is to win 5 matches before you lose 3, and individual performance plays a factor in how many points you gain at the end of the series, meaning you can lose 3 and still come out positive in the end if you have enough gold medals at the end of each match.

If you imported your Splatoon 2 save data, you can unlock Anarchy Battles right out of the gate, and you start at B- rank. But if you didn't, you have to reach level 10 before you can play them, and you start at C-.

For my first foray into Anarchy Battles, I'm playing a couple Series of Splat Zones, my favorite Ranked mode from the first two games. I won 2 series and ranked up to B, but then one of my teammates disconnected in the middle of the third, which took me right into rotation.
