There are no hard and fast rules or recommended calorie and macronutrient amounts in the Flexitarian Diet. In fact, it is a way of life rather than a diet.
It is based on the following principles:
Increase your intake of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains.
Prioritize plant protein over animal protein.
Be flexible and occasionally include meat and animal products.
Consume as many natural foods as possible.
Limit your consumption of added sugars and sweets.
Because of its flexibility and emphasis on what to include rather than what to exclude, the Flexitarian Diet is a popular choice for people looking to eat healthier.
