The Ancient Church of Sardis in Salihli, Turkey

In this video my two friends and I travel to the ancient church of Sardis in Salihli, Turkey in the Manisa province and explain the importance of this place and exactly what was going on with this group of Christians that Jesus Christ himself wrote a letter to in the book of Revelation chapter 3. He didn't have many good things to say to this church at all besides mentioning that there were a few Christians there that were obeying God and living holy and were going to make it to heaven because they had not defiled themselves and disqualified themselves from heaven. However, the majority of the believers at this church that was here during the first century were living in some kind of sin although it doesn't mention exactly what sins they were committing but Jesus said very clearly that because of their sin against God they would have their names erased from the book of life and go to hell if they did not repent. It is no different today and neither is it different for any Christian in any time in history because any Christian who doesn't live holy and overcome sin won't make heaven. This is actually a theme throughout the book of Revelation which is why another word for Christian which is Saint is used in this book of the bible more than in any other in the New Testament because the word Saint means holy one. So contrary to popular belief real Christians are not sinners but they live holy.

Revelation 3:1-6
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
