Matthew 15:8
These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
John 15:1-6
15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Ezekiel 36:25-27
Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Luke 13:3
Jesus said, unless ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.
John 14:6
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

Colossae in Turkey
During our trip to Turkey my two friends Matthew and Tony and I visited the site of the ancient Roman city of Colossae. You can only see a few of the remaining stones of the ancient city because this city was never excavated and it was also a much smaller and less prominent city than Laodicea and the many of the other cities of Asia Minor. This is still a very important place in biblical and Christian history because the Apostle Paul started a church there and he wrote a letter to the believers who lived there which became part of the word of God. While we were there we talked about the subject of Christology, which is the subject of the deity of Christ. We explained what the bible teaches about how Jesus is fully God and yet also fully man at the same time. Colossians chapter one is an amazing Christology passage although some people misunderstand what the word firstborn means, in the bible it doesn't always mean literally the one who is born first, it often is used to describe the person who is pre-eminent or the most important, highest ranking, and highest honored, or it is used for the person who is given a double portion of his Father's inheritance since the eldest son would have this privilege. In scripture King David is called the firstborn in Psalm 89:27 even though he wasn't literally the firstborn because he had seven older brothers and he was literally the youngest son (1 Samuel 16:10-11). Ephraim is also called the firstborn son (Jeremiah 31:9), even though Manasseh was literally the firstborn and Ephraim was the younger brother (Genesis 48).

Colossians 1:15-19
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell
Psalm 89:27
27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Micah 5:2
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Jeremiah 23:5-6
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness.
Isaiah 11:1-10
11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

The Ancient church of Laodicea in Denizli, Turkiye
In Denizli Turkey there is an ancient city still standing today which was one of the richest cities of Asia Minor during the first century when Christianity first began. There was a Christian church there back then which Jesus Christ himself wrote a letter to in the book of Revelation chapter 3. Since these Christians were very rich unlike the other six churches that Jesus sent a letter to, these Christians were in the worst spiritual condition out of all of the churches. We know this because Laodicea is the only church that Jesus never said anything at all good about, although he did have some things that he rebuked five of the seven churches for which are Ephesus, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, and Laodicea, the Laodicean believers are the only ones that he never had anything good to say about although he did give them an encouraging promise that they could have eternal life if they repented of their sin, lukewarmn spirituality, and love for money. He told them to be zealous therefor and repent and he promised that if they did that they would sit with him in his throne even as he (Jesus) also overcame and had sat down with his Father in his throne. It is astonishing that although there were four other churches that had problems and different sins and got rebuked and corrected by Jesus, Laodicea was the only church that was so bad that the presence of God was not even in their church at all! Jesus said that he was standing outside of the church knocking on their door and trying to get in! So although these Christians confessed to love Jesus and be his followers, they were so distracted by the things of the world that their relationship with God was so weak that they had no fellowship with Jesus at all and God wasn't moving or doing anything in their lives at all. Sadly the majority of Christians that live in the western world are exactly like the Laodiceans because they are also wealthy, whereas the rest of the world which isn't as wealthy contains a lot more Christians that are on fire for God and are truly walking with him.

Revelation 3:14-22
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Mark 4:19
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 6:19-32
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
1 John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The church of Philadelphia in Alaşehir, Türkiye
This video is a tour of the ancient ruins of the Greek city that was called Philadelphia during the time of the Roman Empire. There was a Christian church that was here in this city back in the first century, today the modern Turkish city that surrounds these ruins is called Alashehir and it's in western Turkey. This is a very important place for Christian history and archaeology because in the first century right after the life of Jesus Christ and during the time of the Disciples of Jesus and the earliest Christians Jesus gave a message that was to be sent to each one of the Pastors of each of the seven churches that were in Asia Minor which today is modern day Turkey. The amazing thing is that the message which Jesus gave to each of the seven churches was a very serious message about either what they were doing wrong and how they needed to change the way they were living or it was an encouraging message if they were doing good. Some of the Christians who received a message from Jesus were living so badly that Jesus told them they were on their way to hell unless they repented of their sins. The words Jesus spoke to five of the seven churches was bad, but only two of these churches were doing good and weren't reproved at all. Philadelphia was one of these churches that Jesus never had anything bad to say about along with the church of Smyrna. This church was complimented for it's faithfulness to God despite living in the midst of paganism and persecution. Jesus told them that even though they faced heavy persecution from Jewish people that lived amongst them who hated, persecuted and tried to kill them he would give them an open door to preach the gospel that nobody except for Jesus could give them and nobody on earth could take away from them. This video also has Turkish subtitles that you can turn on if you want.

The church of Sardis in Salihli, Turkiye with Turkish Subtitles
In this video my two friends and I travel to the ancient church of Sardis in Salihli, Turkey in the Manisa province and explain the importance of this place and exactly what was going on with this group of Christians that Jesus Christ himself wrote a letter to in the book of Revelation chapter 3. He didn't have many good things to say to this church at all besides mentioning that there were a few Christians there that were obeying God and living holy and were going to make it to heaven because they had not defiled themselves and disqualified themselves from heaven. However, the majority of the believers at this church that was here during the first century were living in some kind of sin although it doesn't mention exactly what sins they were committing but Jesus said very clearly that because of their sin against God they would have their names erased from the book of life and go to hell if they did not repent. It is no different today and neither is it different for any Christian in any time in history because any Christian who doesn't live holy and overcome sin won't make heaven. This is actually a theme throughout the book of Revelation which is why another word for Christian which is Saint is used in this book of the bible more than in any other in the New Testament because the word Saint means holy one. So contrary to popular belief real Christians are not sinners but they live holy.

Lectures on revivals of religion by Charles Finney Audiobook part 2
This is one of the greatest books of all time on the subject of revival. It came from a series of lectures that Charles Finney gave at his bible college called Oberlin University. This book isn't just about revival history but rather it gives practical steps that a Christian or a minister can follow that will result in them being used by God to see a revival if they follow them out of love for the savior Jesus Christ and for lost souls. Finney was America's greatest evangelist of all time because history proves that there was half a million souls saved as a result of his ministry and preaching and that the majority of those converts remained in the faith and were genuinely born again unlike the converts that come from today's modern evangelism that are mostly false converts that end up departing from the faith or not bearing good fruit. Finney was also part of the second great awakening which was one of the greatest revivals in American history and is also the Father of revivalism because he was the first person to come up with the idea of having revival meetings or protracted meetings as he called them. He was also not just an evangelist but also a Pastor and a Theologian. Although his theology and methods are despised by Calvinists and those who hold to reformed theology because they emphasis man's free will and personal responsibility in salvation they worked extremely well in getting people saved. Finney also has many other great books such as his systematic theology, the heart of truth, his autobiography called memoirs on revival, and many others.

The false gospel of Pastor Steven Anderson Refuted!
The false gospel that Baptist Pastor Steven Anderson preaches is damnable heresy because he doesn't believe that the bible says you must repent of sin to be saved. Call it what you will, easy believism, antinomianism, faith alone through Christ alone, whatever, it is heresy and its sending people to hell! It would be hard to list all of the verses that talk about repentance, holiness, and obedience because they are all throughout every book of the bible. Notice just how bad Steven Anderson and all those who think like him are, he has literally said numerous times in his preaching that you could be a murderer and still be saved even if you never stopped killing people!
Jeremiah 7:23 but this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
1 John 2:3-4
Hereby do we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith I know him, and keepeth not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him.

The ruins of Thyatira in Akhisar Turkiye
Some great bible teaching from Revelation 2:18-29 which is Jesus' letter to the church in Thyatira which was the most sinful and corrupt of the seven churches in Revelation. There was a false prophetess named Jezebel preaching there and telling people that it was okay to live in sin and commit fornication and sexual immorality. My friends and I also talk about how Jesus told Jezebel that she would go to hell if she did not repent of her evil deeds. This verse states the truth that everyone is commanded of God to repent of their sins which means to not just believe in Jesus but actually to stop sinning! This video is filmed on location in the small area in the middle of the modern Turkish city Manisa where the ancient Greek and Roman city of Thyatira used to be. The one spot where ancient ruins still remain is in Akhisar.

18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Ancient Pergamon in Turkey
In Revelation chapter 2 and 3 it contains a letter that was written to the Pastors of the seven churches of Asia Minor in modern day Turkey to bring the Christians that lived in the first century AD a message of correction, exhortation, encouragement and commendation that they needed. These bible verses are still very important for Christians today to understand. Me and my two friends traveled to each of the seven churches to see these amazing places where the ruins of the ancient Greek cities still remain so that we could show you these locations and expound the scriptures that were addressed to the Christians who once lived there long ago.

Revelation 2:12-17
12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; 13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. 14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The place where John's gospel was written
This is the place where the Gospel of John was written back in the first century A.D in the ancient city of Ephesus. Nowadays this spot is a tourist attraction in Izmir, Turkey. John the Apostle (not to be confused with John the Baptist) was Jesus most loved disciple and was the closest to Jesus out of all of his 12 disciples who were all his close friends. At the last supper before Jesus went to the cross it was John who laid his head on Jesus' chest. God chose this great man of God to write the fourth gospel because he was the only one who was close enough to Jesus to be able to be used by God to write this book which soars to the greatest heights of describing who Jesus is. One of the major themes of John's gospel is the deity of Christ because of the four gospels this was the last one to be written, Matthew had already wrote his gospel which describes how Jesus is the Messiah and king of Israel, Mark already wrote his gospel which describes how Jesus was the greatest servant, and Luke had already written his gospel which describes how Jesus is the Son of man and has a human nature while still being fully God. The need arose later on for John to write the fourth gospel to explain and defend the deity of Christ because towards the end of the fourth century heretical sects like the Gnostics had sprung up because the devil was trying to use these sects to counteract what God was doing with Christianity because it was spreading like wildfire and turning the world upside down. The apostle John actually alludes to these heretics that were being used as agents of the devil in three other books that he wrote (1,2 & 3 John). He was also used by God to write the greatest prophetic book in the whole bible which predicts the future events that will happen before the return of Jesus Christ.

John 1:1-18
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 3:1-21
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John 10:30-38 I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life

The ancient city of Ephesus in Izmir, Turkiye
Hello Brother Dakota here, in this video you will go on a tour through the ancient city of Ephesus and learn about some of the history behind it and also about some parts of the bible that actually happened here in the book of Acts! My two friends Tony and Matthew also give some great bible teachings along with me. This is where the Apostle Paul wrote one of his letters to during his first Roman imprisonment and it's also one of the seven churches from that Jesus sent a letter to in the book of Revelation which are all located in Turkey. The book of Ephesians is also one of the greatest and most popular books in the bible that contains some of the most foundational and basic Christian teachings. Many have said that this was the greatest letter that the Apostle Paul ever wrote because it contains the most spiritually rich and deep verses in the entire bible! The reason for this is because Paul spent more time teaching the word of God at Ephesus than anywhere else he ever traveled or stayed at. After Paul started a church here it continued strong for a very long time and was later led by a young Pastor named Timothy who Paul sent two letters to which is how we got the books of the bible called first Timothy and second Timothy, the Apostle John who wrote the gospel of John and was Jesus' closest disciple also became the Pastor of the church of Ephesus after Timothy. Timothy was said to have been martyred during the reign of the Roman Emperor Nerva, he was said to have been clubbed to death by a mob for protesting against the orgiastic worship of the goddess Artemis.

Acts 19:19-41
19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way. 24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; 25 whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. 26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: 27 so that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. 28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. 29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre. 30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not. 31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre. 32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together. 33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people. 34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? 36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. 37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess. 38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another. 39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly. 40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse. 41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

A mighty fortress is our God
When my friends and I were in Izmir, Turkey we went to this amazing castle called Kalifekale Castle at the top of the city Brother Matthew started singing the old Christian hymn called A mighty fortress is our God by Martin Luther!
#martinluther #izmir #hymns #protestantmezmur #türkiye
The one hymn that most symbolizes the Protestant Reformation is "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." In it, Martin Luther proclaims his confidence in God and rallies all Christians to war against evil. Basing his words on Psalm 46, he victoriously states "We will not fear, for God has willed His truth to triumph through us." Those persecuted and martyred for their convictions during the Reformation sang these words.
Luther understood the power of evil: After he posted his ninety-five theses on the door of Wittenberg's Castle in 1517, he faced years of trials and persecution, he was excommunicated from the Roman church, and he continually faced threats against his life and his freedom. Other reformers had been persecuted and burned at the stake.
But he also knew "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in danger" (Psalm 46:1) and so he wrote "A Mighty Fortress is our God," proclaiming boldly that "the prince of darkness grim, we tremble not for him . . . one little word shall fell him."
Since he wrote it in 1529, Luther's hymn has been translated into nearly every language. There are said to be over eighty English translations alone to this hymn, but the version most used in the United States is the translation by Frederic Henry Hedge in 1852.
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved:
God shall help her, and that right early.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved:
he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
what desolations he hath made in the earth.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth;
he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder;
he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 61:3
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
Psalm 144:1-2
Blessed be the Lord my strength,
which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
my goodness, and my fortress;
my high tower, and my deliverer;
my shield, and he in whom I trust;
who subdueth my people under me.
Lyrics:
A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper He amid the flood
of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe
doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the Right Man on our side,
the Man of God's own choosing.
Dost ask who That may be?
Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth, His name,
from age to age the same,
and He must win the battle.
And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo, his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
That Word above all earthly powers,
no thanks to them, abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours,
thru Him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill;
God's truth abideth still;
His kingdom is forever.

The ancient Church of Smyrna in Izmir Turkey!
This is a video tour of the ancient Greek Agora in Izmir, Turkey and also a bible teaching about Jesus' letter to the church of Smyrna that was here in this ancient city back in the first century AD. Learn about what Jesus said to these Christians and how it still speaks to Christians today. The Christians in Smyrna were living in a very difficult situation where they faced poverty and persecution but yet they were spiritually rich and spiritually strong because their hardship brought them closer to God. There are a lot of lessons that we can learn today from what Jesus said to them because many christians nowadays don't suffer from poverty or persecution and so they are spiritually poor and weak because the things of this world distract us and keep us from being close to God.

Revelation 2:8-11
And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Hagia Sophia the world's largest ancient church
Check out this awesome footage of the Hagia Sophia from Istanbul Turkey. It was originally a Greek Orthodox Church built by Emperor Justinian almost 1,500 years ago and is still one of the largest dome structures in the world. It used to be a museum for a long time but back in 2020 the president of Turkey decided to turn it into a mosque so they have muslim services there now but it is still open to the public for anyone to go and see. Many people including even Christians are very impressed by this colossal structure which is an amazing thing to see but the truth is that there is no place on earth that you can visit that will help you know God or get saved, salvation can only be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. No religion, Pastor, Priest, Church, Sheik, Imam, Rabbi, Synagogue or mosque can save anyone, only Jesus Christ can save you because he is the only one who died for our sins so that the broken relationship that we have with God because of our sin can be restored.

Acts 17:24-31
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 and hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
John 3:3-8
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:35-36
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Romans 10:9-13
that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 4:34-36
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
Matthew 9:37-38
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Mark 6:12
And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
Matthew 11:20-24
Mat 11:20Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
Mat 11:21Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
Mat 11:22But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
Mat 11:23And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Mat 11:24But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

The Holy Spirit convicting the world of sin (through Christians preaching against sin)
In this video my friend Zach and I explain how Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to convict people of their sins so that they will repent and get saved. Most Christians falsely believe that the Holy Spirit does this completely by himself but this is completely unbiblical and untrue because the Holy Spirit convicts sinners of sin, righteousness, and judgment by using anointed Spirit filled preaching that comes from the mouths of Spirit filled preachers. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin but this doesn't mean that he only convicts lost people of their sin, He convicts everyone who is a sinner of their sin whether they are a Christian or if they are lost people.

John 16:7-11
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
Luke 24:47-49

6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

18 And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people. 19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, 20 added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

John 16:8 Don’t try to convict anyone of their sin because that’s the Holy Spirit’s job!?
Does John 16:8 really prove that Christians and preachers of the gospel should never preach against sin or try to preach in a convicting way in order to get the lost to repent and be saved? You hear this constantly from Christians who don’t believe that hard preaching is necessary but if you look at other verses in the Bible that are related to John 16:8 you will start to better understand what Jesus meant.
