Water Tower One, Bluntisham

There are two water towers in Bluntisham, tower one is the orignal and no longer used to hold water. You can also see it's modern counterpart (tower two) the white water tower in the background.
Both water towers are a prominent feature of the skyline and visible for miles in every direction.

The building of the first tower was started in 1930 and was completed in 1938. The tower was designed by Howard Humphrys & Son, now part of the Atkins Engineering Group and stands 26 meters above ground level (56 meters above sea level) with a diameter of 13.7 meters with a capacity of roughly 638,000 litres of water.

The tower was decomissioned in the mid 90's and was taken out of service due to leakage.
