The Innocence Chronicles | Ep. 1 - Steven Avery
Steven Avery was convicted in 1985 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin of sexual assault and attempted murder and was sentenced to 32-years in prison. After several unsuccessful appeals he was granted reprieve in 2003 when DNA evidence exonerated him, resulting in his release in September of 2003. Mentioned during the livestream is a statement by the victim of the 1985 incident, Penny Beeernsten, which can be found here: https://www.theforgivenessproject.com/stories-library/penny-beernsten/
This is a new series with @Scott Cardinal that will showcase and examine cases of those wrongfully convicted. As you might imagine, Scott will take lead on storytelling, and I'll be there to try and explain the legal aspects of each of these cases.
