How to work the action of a semi auto firearm

There's a right way and wrong way to operate the action of a semi auto firearm. You don't want to "ride" the slide or bolt forward, it should be set free to do its job with no interference.
On an AR15, this means you let go of the charging handle rather than following it forward. Or you can lock the bolt back, close the charging handle and then use the bolt release to send it forward. I'll demo that in another video.
