We needed a place for Rachel to milk cows out of the rain, and we didn't want to spend money, as we were just borrowing the land. This little milking shed design was our solution and we built it in just a few hours!

Keeping a family cow doesn't have to be expensive. This is a simple milking shed design with a headgate / stanchion and milking stool, made from local wood we cut ourselves, along with pallet wood. You could make a full pallet wood shed to milk your cows, but we had all these popcorn trees, so we used those. All you need to buy are some screws or nails!
