The U.S. government is currently stockpiling anti-radiation drugs. Health and Human Services has purchased nearly $300 million of Nplate- a drug that has been around since 2008 to treat an auto-immune disorder that causes bleeding. The drug received an extended approval to treat radiation sickness back in January 2021.

Russian PResident Vladimir Putin recently warned “irresponsible politicians in the west” that Russia has “a variety of weapons of destruction.” He went on to say that he “will without question use all the means at our disposal to protect Russia and our people.”

HHS told the Telegraph that, “this is part of our ongoing work for preparedness and radiological security. It has not been accelerated by the situation in Ukraine.” The drugmaker claims Nplate can be used to treat acute radiation syndrome by stimulating, “the body’s production of platelets.” Although Nplate can cause a lengthy list of side effects, it can be used to treat both adults and children.
