No need for the latest toys

Older guns still work, newer isn't always better, and something you are comfortable with and experienced with can be a better choice than the latest and greatest that is only marginally better on paper.
Reliability isn't a matter of cost or being new. There's no special brand that is really 100%. You always have to try out YOUR gun and your mags with your ammo to know it's reliable. Two of my top handguns are models/brands that many people consider way too unreliable to trust their life to. I might even agree in general, but my specific handguns have been reliable. But I've tested that myself, not just trusted some internet forum.
That HiPoint Yeet Cannon we love to make fun of? Most people who actually shoot them report that they're very reliable. Fugly, but reliable.
