A Hydrogen Torch using Water, Lye and Aluminum

This evening I filled a jar with water, added a little lye and some aluminum foil. After around 10 minutes I was able to put a metal funnel over the solution and lit it. It burned like a torch for over a minute. It even produced a sound similar to a motor as the water boiled against the side of the funnel.
