🎵 - New Rare Music - Joyce Street - Life Ain't Worth Livin' - REACTION

Fresh off the bus from Mississippi, 18-year-old Joyce Street showed up at Reena Records’ Hollywood studio in 1969 with a demo and a dream.

Inspired by R&B crooner Brook Benton, Joyce’s original “Life Ain’t Worth Livin’” was crafted with soulful intentions, but when producer Hal “Hillbilly Heaven” Southern got into the studio it ended up in a more countrypolitan place. “The atmosphere was positive and upbeat,” Street said. “Everyone liked my music and seemed to be enjoying themselves. After the session, I left feeling good with high hopes.”

Joyce’s debut Reena 45 quickly came and went, a fate shared with the two others that followed. She’d leave LA behind soon enough, taking with her a whole new parcel of songs for her days in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Austin, Texas. Hopes high, still dreaming.

Wicked Tunes: It's a crime that Joyce wasn't a huge star. Listen to her voice it's 100% real and from her soul.

The legend who never was.

Home of the new wave of 1960s - 1970s style music.

Artists from the past, and today's new artists making new 1960s - 70s style music from the year 2000 to the present.

These are my reactions and reviews to this new era of great music.

Great new music I think is cool and far out and has a groove, which everyone might enjoy.
And who knows maybe a surprise or three with some great (IMO) the 1960s - 1970s style music from before Y2K ;)
