Witchy Woman Unlisted Video
Already Gone, a country-rock band from Houston, Texas, pays tribute to the Eagles with an atmospheric cover of the classic hit, Witchy Woman. Written by Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, and released as the second single of their 1972 debut album Eagles, Already Gone resurrects Witchy Woman 46 years later with some strong magic.
Although true to the original, the addition of subtle musical nuances give Already Gone's version a spooky edge. Driven by a slightly menacing bass, the haunting tinkle of chimes and funereal organ strains combine with evocative vocals and eerie talk box effects to produce a song that haunts you long after the last notes fade away.
**SPOILER ALERT**
The accompanying video, produced by Cold Creek Films, is a visually arresting cinematic treatment of a storyline loosely inspired by hit television series Stranger Things. Smoke, shadows, and flickering candles set the scene for a beautiful witch, portrayed by newcomer Jen X, as she obsesses over a singer from another time and place. Throughout the video, her power grows stronger, as evidenced by the increasing signal interference as she works her magic in the abandoned practice room of that long-ago band. The band, meanwhile, plays on blissfully unaware that they'll be auditioning new lead singers soon. In the closing scenes, the witch has conjured her lover to her dimension and bound him to her - or has she? There are subtle clues that suggest that she is now in his realm and the band in hers. Regardless, the witch is satisfied, and we fade to black.
