Witchy Woman
Already Gone, a country-rock band from Houston, Texas, pays tribute to the Eagles with an atmospheric cover of the classic hit, Witchy Woman. Written by Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, and released as the second single of their 1972 debut album Eagles, Already Gone resurrects Witchy Woman 46 years later with some strong magic.
Although true to the original, the addition of subtle musical nuances give Already Gone's version a spooky edge. Driven by a slightly menacing bass, the haunting tinkle of chimes and funereal organ strains combine with evocative vocals and eerie talk box effects to produce a song that haunts you long after the last notes fade away.
**SPOILER ALERT**
The accompanying video, produced by Cold Creek Films, is a visually arresting cinematic treatment of a storyline loosely inspired by hit television series Stranger Things. Smoke, shadows, and flickering candles set the scene for a beautiful witch, portrayed by newcomer Jen X, as she obsesses over a singer from another time and place. Throughout the video, her power grows stronger, as evidenced by the increasing signal interference as she works her magic in the abandoned practice room of that long-ago band. The band, meanwhile, plays on blissfully unaware that they'll be auditioning new lead singers soon. In the closing scenes, the witch has conjured her lover to her dimension and bound him to her - or has she? There are subtle clues that suggest that she is now in his realm and the band in hers. Regardless, the witch is satisfied, and we fade to black.

I Still Believe In America (Official Video)
The official music video for Already Gone’s latest single, "I Still Believe In America”, released October 14th. A percussion-driven classic rocker, staccato hand claps punctuate chunky guitars, whiskey & cigarette lead vocals, big keyboard flourishes, and a syncopated bass line. Taken together, they create the perfect backdrop for the truly outstanding feature of this song -the strong and clear harmonies - to really shine. Given the subject matter, it’s not surprising that the song feels courageous; the reflective lyrics are cautiously optimistic and the overall feel of the song is upbeat.

Changing The Tone By Changing The Tune
Historically, songwriters have been been an important part of the national conversation, using their worldwide stage to focus the collective gaze on important social and political issues. Musicians of the 60s and 70s powered entire movements that questioned the policies of our nation's leaders, and made us stronger for it. Unfortunately for the country, the thrill of celebrity proved far stronger than artistic integrity, and a large part of today's prominent musical acts are nothing more than talking (or singing) heads, keeping the nation's eyes focused on the act instead of what’s happening all around them.
Already Gone is not a political band; they are happily independent, beholden to no one save their own artistic vision and social conscience. Like most musicians, they write about what they know and have experienced, and until the last few years, that's been the usual things you might imagine: relationships, aging, mental health, etc. The arrival of cancel culture brought an entirely new set of experiences that the band has watched with dismay as voices of reason have been steadily silenced and replaced by fear of speaking out.
I Still Believe In America was born in this silence. The song is the lone voice in the wilderness, focusing on what's still good, and what could be good again. More importantly, it recognizes the millions of people that are tired of the vitriol, tired of focusing on differences, tired of seeing this country torn apart, and gives them permission to join in saying that they, too, still believe in America.
We hope you will give it a listen, and if you find the song helpful, that you will share it with others who still want to believe.

I Still Believe In America (Official Lyric Video)
"I Still Believe in America" is a call to remember all of the things that make America - and Americans - great. It’s a lyrical tough love reminder that forward progress isn’t always smooth, but that our country’s founding principles still have value for all of us.

Already Gone - Please Come Home for Christmas (Carpool Karaoke Style)
Our drummer was in the hospital with flu and pneumonia (this was way before Covid) so we surprised him with a get-well dedication of Please Come Home for Christmas, Carpool Karaoke style. Of course, being Already Gone, we had to ham it up a bit.

Call My Name by Already Gone [Official Video] 4K
Already Gone got their start as an Eagles tribute band in Houston, TX. All five members are not only accomplished musicians, but men of deep faith. Call My Name, their first single from their new album, 8-Tracks, reflects that faith and delivers a message that's sorely needed today. This video has both good music and good news, both of which are in short supply, so share and make someone else happy too!
