Old Machinists Spirit Level - Restoration |4K|

Here I #restore a machinists spirit level that is covered in rust, cement and dirt after decades of hard use. Despite being a precision tool made for machinists it has been subjected to many other uses including leveling cement. This has resulted in the spirit level being covered in rust and dried cement.

I begin by disassembling and cleaning each part and then I remove the cement using a chisel and hammer. I then grip a grinding wheel in a lathe and grind the remaining rust and cement away. After grinding each part I finish them by using a fine emery paper and then reassemble the pieces. I finish the video by polishing the metal surfaces and then present the newly restored spirit levels gleaming appearance.
