HfPef (Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction) is the appearance of heart failure symptoms in patients with hearts with normal ejection fractions. The etiology appears to be multifactorial, but in reality, it continues to baffle clinicians worldwide. HfPef is separate and different from Hfref or heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, and the natural history and prognosis are different. Hfpef is not only difficult to diagnose, but it is also difficult to treat. Studies are now uncovering the treatments that are effective in this condition, but we are still a long way from fully uncovering the true nature of Hfpef.
