The Name of God - Show Notes

Summary:
Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven whereby men might be saved. Is God to be addressed by a specific name in a specific language? Is His name so sacred it cannot be pronounced? Is it only to be addressed in Hebrew? What about Jesus? Should He be Yeshua instead? Let’s search the Scriptures.

Notes:
In the first 17 chapters of Genesis alone, we see God named several ways:

God: El, Elohim
The Lord: Jehovah
GOD: Jehovah (all caps)
The Lord God: Jehovah Elohim
The Most High God: El Elyon
Lord GOD: Adonai Jehovah
The Almighty God: El Shaddai

Other names of God:

The Ancient of Days
Yahweh Tsebaoth: The Lord of Hosts
El Roi: The God who sees me
Yahweh Yireh: God Provides
Yahweh Ropheka: The God who Heals
Yahweh Nissi: The Lord is my Banner
Yahweh Shalom: The God of Peace

God is Creator, Almighty, above all gods, Lord, and He has revealed Himself to us in His Word. It matters not what language you use, whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!
