The early Battlefield 1942 had a wealth of maritime vehicles

including landing craft submarines battleships destroyers and so on. However the battle between sea vehicles can slow down the pace of the game so the Battlefield series of games after Battlefield 1942 have significantly reduced the size of the sea vehicles Battlefield 2 Battlefield: Renegade Company only left a landing craft a water vehicle while Battlefield 2042 does not have any water vehicles. Most vehicles are allowed to carry more than 2 crew members and some have crew members who can control special weapons. Theoretically there are enough vehicles for more than half of the players on each map. The battle of the carriers can last from the beginning to the end of the game as they will respawn at the stronghold after being destroyed.
