Re-making a Broken Machete

This machete started life as a 22-inch D-handle from Ontario Knife Company, about two decades ago. I didn't like the ergonomics of the factory handle, so made a Dymondwood handle. Then, a few days ago, the blade broke--right on a notch that I had unwisely filed many years ago, to "end" the sharp part of the blade. So, I ground down what was left, drilled the steel in 3 places with a carbide drill bit, and put 1/2-inch thick brown canvas micarta on it using Gorrilla Glue. Now it's a 13-inch machete (18-1/2" overall).
