China launches new satellite for scientific experiments

China has sent a new satellite into scheduled orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gobi Desert. The Yunhai-1 03 satellite was launched on a Long March-2D carrier rocket. The device will be used to study the atmospheric, marine and space environments, as well as for disaster prevention and scientific experiments.
