The hummingbird family (Trochilidae) is a family of swiftlets known as hummingbirds. Small birds hover in the air by flapping their wings rapidly (80 times per second, depending on the size of the bird) and are the only birds that can fly backward. The flying ability of hummingbirds is superb, and they are also called "divine birds", "comets", "forest goddesses" and "corolla".
