Coiling a bandsaw blade is easy and fast. When coiled, the blade takes up less storage space, is easy to label and retrieve, and is safer to handle.

Wearing gloves, making sure you have covered-toe shoes on, and facing the teeth away from you, grasp the top of the loop while standing on the bottom loop against the floor. Using a twisting motion, twist the top loop clockwise as you push the top loop towards the floor. Twist once again as you bring the two loops together. The blade will coil up, but will probably need a bit of "jostling" to get the coil even.

To open the blade, use gloved hands and hold the coiled blade out from your body. Grab one loop of the coil and shake out the loop to open the blade to ready it for installation.
