I sterilized the my potting soil in the oven before loading the seed starting trays. Here is that video if you haven't seen it:https://youtu.be/HNJruXAL_g8

With this being completely dry the growing medium needs to be watered well. With peat moss being in this mix when dried out it can be hydrophobic (repels water). After filling the trays, I watered the trays very well and allowed the trays to sit over night before planting seeds the next day.
