6/19/2022 Harvesting garlic scapes from hard neck garlic.

Before this year I only grew soft neck varieties of garlic. This year I tried hard neck for the first time. As the hard neck garlic grows, it produces a flower stock called a scape. This uses a lot of energy to produce, which takes away from the growth of the bulbs. That is why they need to be removed to help make a large garlic bulb.
