Splatoon 3 - Hero Mode 100% - Part 1: The Crater

Well, kids, squids, and octopuses, the wait is finally over! The third installment of the Splatoon series has dropped today, so let's dive right into the action once again! There are many things to do in Splatsville, but first things first, the Great Zapfish has been stolen once again, so let's go into the sewer and rescue it!Show more

Immediately upon entering said sewer, you're greeted by a now-retired Captain Cuttlefish who insists the Octarian army is up to no good again, with a new weapon in play known as fuzzy ooze! One touch of this stuff will turn your Inkling/Octoling into a furball, so you want to stay far away from that stuff. However, with enough Power Eggs, your little Smallfry Salmonid buddy can gobble it up and allow you to proceed.

After a few brief tutorial levels in The Crater as well as a familiar tutorial boss, the ground cracks open and Cuttlefish and Agent 3 fall into a new world known as Alterna where Agent 3 meets up with Agents 1 and 2 of the NEW New Squidbeak Splatoon (a.k.a. the Squid Sisters Callie and Marie as established in the first game), as well as their new captain, the original Agent 3 from the first game.

Splatoon 3's story mode combines the map formula of Splatoon 1 and 2 with the level formula from Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion, with different types of missions (some of which have entry fees) and three treasures to collect along the way to the multi-part final area. There are also many hidden items to collect along the way in each area, and I will try to collect all of them in this playthrough.

Also worth noting at the beginning of the game, you can import your Splatoon 2 save data allowing you to play Anarchy Battles (this game's version of Ranked Battles) right away, skip the training portion of Salmon Run Next Wave, and give you three Gold Sheldon Licenses to unlock later-level weapons right away. You can also choose which region's Splatfests you want to play in, which means no longer will I be required to buy a Japanese copy of the game to play in their Splatfests!
