On 08/20/2022, at approximately 2:25 AM, Troop E Communications received a call from Prairie County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in a pursuit. Prairie County advised they had one deputy pursuing a blue Ford Mustang after attempting to stop the vehicle for speeding. The deputy advised the suspect was fleeing recklessly traveling at over 100 miles per hour headed south on U.S. Highway 63 towards the city limits of Pine Bluff.
I positioned myself to intercept the pursuit on U.S. Highway 63 just outside the city limits of Pine Bluff. At approximately 2:37 AM the pursuit passed me and I took over as the primary unit and pursued the vehicle approximately 1.5 miles. At approximately 2:38 AM I executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.), ending the pursuit. The suspect was later taken into custody without further incident and handed over to the Prairie County Sheriff’s Office.
The Arkansas State Police contacted Smith’s Wrecker out of Pine Bluff for the Prairie County Sheriff’s Office and concluded any further involvement in the incident.
