Mercy not sacrifice; Lord over the Sabbath! (Matthew 12:1-8)

I know we didn't touch on the fact that JESUS is greater than the temple. Not the meeting place between GOD and Israel (humanity too) but the meeting person of GOD and Israel. Where Israel's GOD, YHWH, comes to earth in the form of a person to finally set it right. (Which as a side note I love because I don't like the idea of middle-men. Seems GOD isn't to big on it either as HE becomes the one in the middle.) That we are able to freely go in and come out because the curtain is torn. (Matthew 27:51, we'll get there. ^.^ )
Nor really have we talked about the Son of Man title HE uses for Himself. (It's from Daniel. (And title rather than the expression used in Ezekiel, "son of man" meaning human.) No, we will get to that when we do Daniel, some time down the road from now. Sufficed to say the short-short version is "The Truly Human One." i.e. the Adam who got it right. [Human that got it right.]

All of that is really intense, really deep, and really fun theology that would be a blast to talk about in person one day in a meeting call perhaps.

No, today, we touched on something that helps make reading the Bible easier. You know how we talked about verses to help read with, like Matthew 7:12, well Hosea 6:6 is another. They should be taken in complete context, doing so helps read the rest of it easier. Offering mercy over sacrifice. Doing to others what we would like them to do to us. Living lives that show we care for our fellow image-bearers. Not because we endorse, agree with, or hell even like, but because GOD created them too. Who of us has the right to take life? Who of us has the power to truly give it?

No, today let us focus on mercy, on love and on grace,
For our King has shown it to our very silly race.
Humanity a creation so beautiful and so sweet,
Yet so shattered and broken it makes me weep.
How far we have fallen, yet HIS grace ring true,
For HE died for all of us, for me and for you.
So today, let us live mercy, live love, live grace,
For HE hasn't wiped out the whole human race.
For the righteousness of one or even a few,
may get pulled out like Lot before you know what to do.

If you're struggling with part of the text of the bible, go over it again with a few of those Key verses, keep on asking for wisdom, you'll receive it. Keep seeking HIS face and you will find HIM, keep knocking on HIS door and it will be opened. (Matt 7:7, Jas 1:5)
