"Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)," written by Barry Mason & Tony Macaulay, hit the no. 5 position on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970 (Whitburn, 2013), while rocketing to the no. 1 position on the UK Singles' chart and remained at that position for 5 weeks (Kutner & Leigh, 2005). Writer/Producer Tony Macaulay recorded the song with session musicians, including session vocalist Tony Burrows, who was also the lead vocalist for White Plains "My Baby Loves Lovin'," The Pipkins' "Gimme Dat Ding'" and the Brotherhood Of Man's "United We Stand," all charting in 1970 and then The First Class' "Beach Baby" in 1974 (imdb, 2022; Kutner & Leigh, 2005). When the song became a hit, Macaulay put together a touring band to promote the song (songfacts, 2022).
