So you wanna get into off-roading. You want a serious 4x4, a rock climber or mud truck. You want a short wheelbase 2 door, but you DON’T want a Wrangler. What kind of truck can you find under 3k? What does $3000 buy you? Is it even POSSIBLE?

I buy a Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport, a two door, lifted truck on 35” tires, 6 inch lift with all the goodies. Yes, it’s got a 10,000 lbs winch, yes it has a lightbar, yes its rhino-lined. This was meant to be a winter beater, but turns out, that I fell in love with this Jeep, and it’s just plain too good and too nice to be a beater.

Best of all, you won’t believe how cheap it was.
