Germany’s award winning, the Directors Duo talk about their recent camera tests of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K and why they cut sixteen scenes into an example Sci-Fi movie trailer. They talk about shooting in anamorphic 6K using Blackmagic RAW Constant Quality Q0.

“Blackmagic Design sent us one of the very first Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K to test before it was launched. Because this camera is for both professionals, and filmmakers who are starting out, we wanted to create something that would empower both of them to do their own films.”

“Our aim was to see how cinematic we could go with such a small camera. Because of its dynamic range and the low light capabilities, you can just use available light and a couple of small external light sources, which really opens things up for all those creative people wanting to do a film.”

“We thought it would be interesting to test the camera’s low light capabilities while simultaneously trying to do something more filmic, genre driven, such as a trailer for a fake movie. We are completely in love with the Sci-Fi genre and inventing these altered worlds but we know it can be quite tricky. Especially as we knew that, we had to shoot everything in only a week with nothing more than the things around us. But we were happy to accept the challenge of doing a genre piece on a DIY level. Just like back in our student days.”
