​STORYPOWER AS A “READ TOOL”
Stories are a powerful way to recall, recount and reveal historic events. The more the story fits to real life, the more believable, the more it involves emotional attachment the more the memories come alive. If you have ever listened to someone recount the events of their life and seen them tear up, or laugh out loud along the way, chances are they are reliving the event as they tell it. There is nothing more powerful for transferring the emotions and creating a memorable event than being present in the story as you tell it. The power to resonate and connect with your audience is deep and wide when they get to experience the event with you through the emotional journey.

​Now that you have them connected with you, take them somewhere worth going.

STORYPOWER AS A “WRITE TOOL”
It’s a powerful thing to “latch on” to an audience and have them shadowing you on a journey through your recalled and recounted emotions. Its a whole new level of influence and responsibility to point them in the direction of a new emotion all their own and send them on their way. Selecting and crafting stories where the call to action offers significant transformation, demands an emotional investment and extraordinary commitment. Presenting stories which offer this level of transformation will take its toll on the presenter long before it makes an impact on the hearer.

Consider how much water is required to make almond butter; not in the process of manufacturing the butter, but in the growing of the almond. If you are not willing to invest the emotional work necessary to craft stories with layers of emotional triggers and definitive action, you are not ready to transform lives. If you are willing to make the sacrifice, not to merely entertain, but to radically transform, it is possible to craft stories which make societal level paradigm shifts in the mindset.

The craft of StoryPower requires emotional intelligence, genuine compassion, a vision for a better future and a commitment to sacrifice selflessly to a specific outcome.

The application of artful vagary, heightened emotional awareness, intense listening skills, reframing of past events and future expectations are all required to master StoryPower. But the greatest requirement is the desire to move beyond the need of the story teller to be heard and into the desire of the audience to be changed, even when they are unaware that they desire change or even are ready to accept it.
