Photographing with this unique fluorographic black & white film originally used for lung x-rays in Eastern Europe. Washi Film "F" is a special X-ray film used for mass lung disease diagnose. Being coated without anti-halation layer, this unique film offers a high diffusion effect and beautiful grain.

Film Noir seemed like the perfect vehicle to showcase this film and how night images from Washi F are pure magic.
All the still images were taken on the same night with the Olympus OM-1 35mm film camera. All were taken handheld with a 1/15 shutter speed, aperture varied from f1.8 to f2.8. The film was developed in FPP-110 developer for 8 minutes with 10 sec agitation every two minutes. The slower agitation schedule was to help preserve detail in the highlights.

Washi (the world's smallest film company) distributes unusual film emulsions that capture the world in a unique way. For more information, visit them at: http://filmwashi.com/en/
