Pakistan wins 8 medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games

Pakistan has won 8 medals at 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) held in Birmingham, UK. Out of 72 participating nations, Pakistan finished at 18th on the medal table. This is the best score for Pakistan since 1970.

Pakistan's Nooh Dastgir Butt and Arshad Nadeem won gold medals in weight lifting and javelin throw respectively. Muhammad Inam, Zaman Anwar and Sharif Tahir won silver medals while Inayat Ullah and Ali Asad won bronze medals in wrestling. Shah Hussain won bronze medal in judo.

It was Pakistan's 14th appearance in CWG. 2022 had been the largest ever sports programme in CWG's history with 280+ sessions across 11 days, from 28 July to 9 August.
