Stripping old Paint to expose natural wood features in our Farmhouse restoration // The Homestead #5

Today on the homestead we strip back some painted trim and we reveal that there is beautiful wood that we could clean up, coat with lacquer and use as nice accent pieces in our design. I also take a first look at our soil by digging a random hole in the ground. I try assessing what I can without any test kits. I then dig a hole to put our bat box in and find that we have clay about 10 inches down. I also discuss how it feels to be moving out of the motorhome and how our RV was the closest thing we had to a home until now.
