3D printer stepper motor hard to turn, binding, stiff, rubbing, making noise, bad bearing stuck

I upgrading my printer and noticed my stepper motor was hard to turn and seemed to put rubbing. I would turn freely them bind. This can overheat the stepper driver by causing a current spike. The driver needs more current to overcome the resistance.
