Pearl White’s Years on the Stage

Pearl White, a hugely popular movie actress from 1910 to 1924, began her career in live theater. This is Part 3 in a series about her life. Born in Missouri, Part One describes her childhood in Green Ridge, Missouri. Part 2 covers her teenage years in Springfield, Missouri. In this episode the two years she spent as a member of numerous traveling acting troupes as she sought stardom. The episode contains stories from the road, as published in her autobiography “Just Me” published in 1919.
