Five Hours in Dallas
Live through 11/22/63 as it happens. This video is uploading on the 60th anniversary of this historic day which changed the world. Every single part of this video was made using primary sources, including radio coverage, archival footage, and interviews with people who were there. I include absolutely no opinions or commentary beyond that shared by the witnesses. Certain details have been included in writing due to their nature, but the information is provided on the screen. Actual locations visited and filmed include the Texas Hotel, the Sixth Floor Museum, and Dealy Plaza. Witnesses include Bill Paxton, Governor John Connally, Julius Read, Dr. Robert McClellan, Dr. Ronald Jones, journalist Bob Hunaker, nurse Phyllis Hall, Secret Service Agent Clint Hill, and others. Various radio reports, portions of the President’s speeches, and then and now location images are also included. Please consider supporting the channel as this video, despite its neutral and educational nature, has been restricted by YouTube. But don’t worry, the mindless garbage my daughter watches is fully available to all and the creator compensated, so YouTube is a very safe space for the stupidest of content. We can at least take comfort in that fact. Perhaps I should reconsider my career path and make videos featuring fart jokes instead of meticulously researched history videos. At least then I could live confidently knowing my one to four weeks of work would allow me to feed my family.

BILLY COOK: The Real Hitcher
Billy Cook, from Joplin, Missouri’s, crime spree was the number one national news story in 1951. The manhunt for him was one of the biggest in history and crossed international borders. Some historians claim it dwarfed anything that happened in the public enemies era. And while today he has been largely forgotten, his legacy does affect our lives in ways that might surprise you. He began the boogie man stories of the killer hitchhiker, which led to a slew of Hollywood horror movies inspired by his crime spree. A verse of “Riders on the Storm” by the Doors is directly inspired by Cook, and the tattooed hands of Robert Mitchum’s character in “The Night of the Hunter” may be a nod to Cook as well. Imagine my surprise to learn that the grave of this notorious person was located an hours drive from my house. By the time I came along in the 1980s absolutely nobody hitchhiked anymore, and Billy Cook is the first person to show the world just how dangerous a past time it could be. This is his story, and the story of those he hurt.

BONNIE AND CLYDE’S Final Days
This video follows in Bonnie and Clyde’s footsteps the final months of their life leading up to their end at the hands of lawmen. Knowing the end was coming, Clyde and Bonnie tied up loose ends with family, friends, and enemies knowing their time grew short. This video describes the final visit home, final robberies, and even details where Bonnie last had her hair done. It follows the lawmen as they closed the net around them and is also a detailed look at the aftermath of Gibsland and the mobs that descended on Arcadia for a piece of the legendary duo. It is the most in depth study of their end ever done. Sources used include Runnung with Bonnie and Clyde by John Neal Phillips, Ambush by Ted Hinton, On the Trail of Bonnie and Clyde Then and now by Winston G. Ramsey and Go Down Together by Jeff Guinn. I do make an error whe describing the weapons used by the lawmen. The information came from Ted Hinton’s account which he gave forty years later. I should have checked the information against another source and apologize for the error. Sites visited include the Bonnie and Clyde museum in Gibsland, LA, the ambush site, the former site of their final hideout, Arcadia, LA, their graves, and the site of Clyde’s funeral.

JOE DELANEY: Hero of the NFL
In 1981, Joe Delaney,a poor man from Haughton, Louisiana, who could run 100 yards in 9.4 seconds was drafted in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe was their star running back, leading the Chiefs to their first winning season in ten years. He was 1981’s rookie of the year, started in the Pro Bowl, set four franchise records and was voted team MVP. Joe was also a generous and humble man who cared about the needs of others before himself. This is the story of his life, and heroic death, attempting to save the lives of three drowning boys. He managed to save one. Please watch all of this, share with your friends and family. Time has dimmed the memory of Delaney’s heroic deed. We must remember him, and honor his sacrifice, and perhaps strive to be more like him as a society.

BONNIE AND CLYDE: Final Days, Ambush, and Burial
This episode, chronicles the last months of Bonnie and Clyde, culminating in their ambush in Louisiana. In this video I visited the actual locations such as the site of their hideout, the ambush location, where they spent their final night alive, the Gibsland Ambush Museum, the streets of Arcadia, Louisiana, their graves, the site of Clyde’s funeral, and more. What did Bonnie and Clyde, and their families do to prepare for their deaths? How did the final family visit go? What promises were made? Where did Bonnie get her last permanent? I apologize for the length of this. Due to fears of restrictions I chose not to break it into multiple episodes, which not only made it longer but made it take longer to make. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed making it. A note about the life insurance, discussions I found online between insurance professionals indicate companies DO pay families even if the person is killed during a crime. The criminal isn’t profiting and the family isn’t responsible for their loved one’s behavior. The effect seems to mostly affect the receiving of the accident benefit.

BONNIE RAY PARKER’S Niece: Rhea Leen Linder
On May 27, 2023, I attended the 30th annual Authentic Bonnie and Clyde Festival in Gibsland, Louisiana. Every year the only living relatives of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow attend. Buddy Barrow, the son of Clyde’s youngest brother LC, is in his mid 70s. Bonnie’s niece, daughter of her older brother Buster, will turn 89 this October. She was kind enough to let me briefly interview her. I enhanced the interview with information about both of their lives, and I include stories they have told in other interviews that I have found. She talks about her childhood with Billie Jean, who raised her from age 7, the trio of old ladies Billie (Parker), Blanche (Barrow) and Marie (Barrow) and their antics, and family reactions to the 1967 Hollywood film (hint, it wasn’t good) lol. There is a brief talk of the effort to move Bonnie beside Clyde that is now in the courts. I cannot reveal any specifics of the case to protect their efforts but I give a few of my personal views which should be okay and do no harm. I include some footage of the festival as well, and stay tuned for an episode chronicling their final day alive in the very near future!
The original image of Bonnie which I altered in FaceApp to age progress was created by the YouTube channel Mystery Scoop. Check them out, their PhotoShop creations of historical figures is amazing!
I also consulted an interview Rhea Leen and Buddy did for the Dallas Historical Society in 2021, for additional stories.

BONNIE AND CLYDE: Kidnap Dillard Darby and Sophia Stone
On April 27, 1934, two weeks after the Joplin shootout, the Barrow gang, consisting of Clyde and Buck Barrow, Buck’s wife Blanche, Bonnie Parker and W.D. Jones found themselves in Ruston, Louisiana, where they planned to rob the Ruston State Bank. For the job they needed a second car. Seeing an unattended car in front of the Brooks boarding house (with the keys in the ignition I might add), the gang let W.D. out to take it. They didn’t anticipate the car’s owner and his female neighbor giving chase. In anger Clyde took them along for a joyride into Arkansas. In the 1967 film, Bonnie and Clyde showed the couple, played by Gene Wilder and Evans Evans having a fabulous time. Watch this to find out what really happened to Dillard Darby and Sophia Stone in 1933. Oh, and yes, Dillard Darby was an undertaker who would indeed help embalm Bonnie and Clyde a year later just as Bonnie requested of him during their road-trip

ADAM RICHETTI, PRETTY BOY FLOYD, and the kidnapping of the Polk County Sheriff
Adam Richetti and Pretty Boy Floyd’s stolen Pontiac broke down in Bolivar, Missouri on June 14, 1933. While Adam’s brother Joe repaired the car at Bitzer’s garage a crowd gathered drawing the attention of the sheriff, Big Jack Killingsworth. He ended up having to ride with them for nearly seven hours. Locations visited include the graves of both Adam Richetti and Big Jack Killingsworth, the actual building that was once the garage where the Sheriff was taken and the very chamber where Richetti died in 1938.

COCAINE BEAR’S Real Story
The real cocaine Bear, whose life inspired the film, was just a bear living in a national forest when bags of human drugs essentially fell into her living room. This video, filmed at the Dickerson Park zoo’s black bear habitat tells the story of her life and death. It also describes the story of the plane’s pilot, Andrew Thornton II, his boss Jimmy Chagra, and his hit man Charles Harrelson. You are probably familiar with his actor son, Woody Harrelson. Even if criminals aren’t your thing, there is some adorable bear footage here and a more lighthearted story than usual.

Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans
In Part Five of the Life of Lee Harvey Oswald, Marina meets and befriends Ruth Paine. I visit the Paine home and discuss their move to New Orleans and their life in the city where Lee was born. Lee experiments with legitimate political activism on behalf of Fidel Castro and attempts to form a New Orleans branch of Fair Play for Cuba committee, though his activities were not sanctioned by the organization.

The JOPLIN TORNADO: The Power of a Multi Vortex F5
On May 22, 2011, one of the worst years of tornado outbreaks in recent memory, an F5 tornado a mile wide destroyed 30 percent of the city of Joplin, Missouri, cutting through the heart of the southern part of town. I track the route of the storm using the storm is maps, cctv footage from the hospital and local schools and photos and descriptions of the damage to illustrate the incredible damage caused by this tornado. I visited a memorial located in Cunningham Park, located in the heart of the storm and the site of some of the worst damage.

LEE HARVEY OSWALD’S Grave: Who is NICK BEEF
In 1997 a strange headstone appeared next to the grave of Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. Who is Nick Beef? Is a body buried there? Was it placed there for a nefarious purpose? This video answers all of those questions and hopefully will serve as a more lighthearted palette cleanser to the heavy content I’ve been doing lately. Don’t worry, the next volume in Oswald’s saga is coming soon. But I hope you enjoy this short episode about his deathly neighbor.

BONNIE AND CLYDE: Funerals and Graves
Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed on a dusty and remote Louisiana highway on May 23, 1934, by two retired Texas Rangers and Texas and Louisiana officers. This video describes their end, their possessions, and the challenges facing the funeral homes that prepared them. Included is the reading of a letter written by someone who worked on Bonnie. Sites visited include the funeral home where Clyde’s funeral was held and the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas, where many Bonnie and Clyde artifacts are on display including items found in their car, and the gravesites of both Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker. This is an abridged edition of a video that has been age restricted three times previously. Age restricted videos are basically buried from audiences. The original is still available if you’d like to view it but you must be signed in. You can find it in my Bonnie and Clyde playlist. The original contains images of the aftermath. Version two removes images but contains a bit more detail. I believe this version is still good if you can handle the absurdity of what I have had to do to keep this public. Thanks for your support!

LEE HARVEY OSWALD in the Soviet Union
This is episode one in a series on the life and crimes of Lee Harvey Oswald. It focuses mostly on his years in the Marine Corps, his years living in the Soviet Union and his meeting and romance with his wife Marina. The main source used for this was the book “Marina and Lee” by Priscilla McMillan, the most intimate portrait of Oswald I have ever read. McMillan lived with Marina for several months while researching the book in 1964. The recollections of everyone involved were fresh and not yet tainted by conspiracy theories. McMillan was uniquely qualified not only as a fabulous researcher and journalist, but she was also one of the only people on earth who had personally known or interviewed both Kennedy and Oswald. She interviewed Oswald in 1959, during his time in Russia. McMillan said her goal with writing the book was to help Jack understand why he died. While Marina has since changed her mind about her husband’s guilt, after being introduced to conspiracy theories, I believe her memories here more accurately reflect her mind at the time. Dozens of other people who knew Oswald were also interviewed and it’s as close as we the public may ever come to understanding who Oswald was.

THE DALTONS: Failed Coffeyville Bank Robbery
The Dalton gang, Bob Dalton, Grat Dalton, Emmett Dalton, Bill Powers, and Dick Broadwell attempted to rob two banks at the same time on October 5, 1892. The robbery was a disaster. What could go wrong, did. Citizens of Coffeyville, Kansas, stood up to the bandits. This video follows the actions of all heroes and villains involved. I follow their footsteps step by step, shot by shot, and mistake after mistake made by the gang. This is a republication of a previous video which was mysteriously age restricted by YouTube. My theory is because one bandit was named Richard, but went by a naughty sounding nickname and a defender was named Cary Sea Man (get the idea?) Even if you’ve seen it before I think this one is worth revisiting. Personally, I think it’s my best.

FLIGHT 11: Heroes in the Sky
The pilots, flight attendants and passengers of Flight 11 showed tremendous courage and poise in the face of great adversity and fear. Individuals profiled include flight attendants Betty Ong, Amy Sweeney and Sarah Low. Passenger Daniel Lewin, brilliant inventor, entrepreneur and businessman who may have taken action against the attackers, and pilots John Ogenowski and Thomas McGuinness. Recordings from that day help bring to life the events of that day and hopefully honor the actions of the brave people aboard the flight as well as the people they communicated with on the ground who worked to identify the attackers and tried to protect the other 596 flights in the sky that day.
