Join us for part two of our beautiful hike in the Little Missouri Badlands in the western North Dakota. The Caprock Coulee trail is one of the more scenic trails in Theodore Roosevelt National Park because it follows a ridgeline high over the Little Missouri river valley, starting at River Bend Overlook (2400ft). This video segment starts as we hike along the windswept ridgeline, then we descend the lee side of the ridge towards the bottom of Cedar Canyon, which is the lowest point on the trail (2020ft).

The broken landscape of these badlands are appealing to the eyes because of the colorful layers of sedimentary rocks, which have been eroded away by the course of the Little Missouri river.
